Dr. Chaudhry does not recommend placement of the lap band for weight loss. The procedure is associated with many complications, such as band slippage, erosion, chronic abdominal pain, and severe nausea/vomiting and reflux. Dr. Chaudhry has removed many gastric bands due to these complications. If you feel you have any adverse reaction to the gastric band, even if it was placed many years ago, it may need to be treated with removal of the band.
